Consulting to the Medical Industry
Since our inception in 1961, Cranstoun & Hussein Chartered Accountants has always had a strong involvement with the medical profession, its industry groups, associations and networks.
In recent years, the firm has actively built upon and marketed the services offered to our clients within these medical professions. We feel that to provide value and leadership to our clients, accountants should offer more that just periodic tax advice and financial statement preparation.
As part of our focus on the medical industry, we have undertaken a comprehensive review of each of the medical professions and allied medical professions to identify those specific issues that are unique to this field of business. This included a review of the trends and participants concerns to ensure that we provide the best possible advice to our clients.
The review identified a wide range of issues confirming that there is no "one size fits all" approach. We have always ensured that our approach to a client's requirements is flexible enough to cater to their particular needs.
However, we also identified some consistent issues and we undertook additional research and investigation in these areas. In particular we have looked at;
* Commencing in practice and structuring a medical practice;
* Reviewing existing medical practice structures to consider asset protection as well as wealth maximisation through tax planning;
* Buying and selling a medical practice;
* Industry trends concerning the costs and benefits of practice amalgamations;
* Valuing a medical practice;
* Structuring service arrangements;
* Benchmarking a practice's financial performance against industry averages
* Developing a budget for the practice and/or an individual doctor's finances
As part of our specialisation, we have also focused on developing our association and networks with other industry participants and consultants, such as AMAQ Services Pty Ltd, major banks and other financiers, solicitors and insurers.
Should you be an experienced doctor wishing to review your current trading and investment structures, wanting to know what your practice is worth or are considering private practice, we are able to assist you.
Please contact our industry specialists, Paul Copeland or Julie Smith to discuss how we may be able to assist you further.
